Community College Services

UC TIP stands for the University of California Merced's TransferInitiative Program. Our mission is to increase the number of eligible transfer ready students in the Central California region through early transfer advising, intervention and increase of access and awareness of transfer resources and tools. Our representatives provide transfer guidance for any student at designated community colleges throughout the state. Any community college student who was not a UC TIP participant in high school is welcome to receive our services. Transfer guidance and connection to resources are provided through one-on-one advising, summer programs, group presentations, and resource promotion by the UC TIP team.

A UC TIP advisor will assist any community college student at our serviced campuses to help better understanding the transfer process and admission requirements to the University of California.

Students who receive these services are able to:
  • Have access to workshops and presentations to succeed in their community college experience
  • Communicate with UC TIP representatives and receive updates about transfer requirements
  • Work one-on-one with UC TIP representative to create an academic plan to enhance their transfer process
  • Connect with various academic programs throughout their community college experience
  • Participate in summer programs to facilitate a timely transfer
